Role overview

As the Senior Writer, you will be responsible for pitching and developing quality personal finance content, leading strategic initiatives, and mentoring junior writers in the content team.

This will be a varied and dynamic role and will involve the following key responsibilities:

  • Pitching, writing and editing long- and short-form personal finance content
  • Working with alternative content formats such as emails, social media posts, videos, podcasts, quizzes, and polls.
  • Keeping track of key changes and developments in the UK personal finance world to ensure that content on the UK platform remains timely and accurate.
  • Acting as nudge’s resident UK personal finance expert and helping fill knowledge gaps across the business.
  • Leading on strategic initiatives (e.g. projects to improve engagement and efficiency).
  • Representing the content team in relevant cross-team projects.
  • Working closely with the content leadership team and sub-editors to set and maintain nudge’s content quality standards.
  • Loading content onto the platform via nudge’s content management system when required.

Skills and experience

For this role the ideal candidate should have:

  • 3+ years experience writing about personal finance.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the UK personal finance landscape, and global financial news and trends.
  • Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to adapt writing style and tone of voice for different purposes and audiences.
  • An interest in UX and a willingness to go above and beyond to create quality content.
  • An interest in multimedia formats.
  • Confidence in leading, testing and trialling new content initiatives.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
